Dress up days at school

When you go to a school where you have to wear uniforms, free-dress or any other non-uniform day is extra special.  Faith has "Dollar days" where parents pay $30 per kid and that sets them for the year to get free dress day on certain days.  In addition to those days there are lots of themed days.  Here's a collection of those days.
Career day - 9/7/12
baseball player and doctor
crazy hair day 9/14/12

The Texas day celebration was complete with BBQ sandwiches and Dr. Pepper.  Watching Price take his "no thank you" bite of a meat sandwich was nothing short of hilarious.  Poor thing, always trying to do what he is supposed to, brought the sandwich tentatively to his mouth and I'm sure got only bread but acted like it was something awful.  Age 5...still won't eat meat with the exception of chicken nuggets and hot dogs.

10/18/12 '50's day - how cute are they?!
Faith is super conservative and does not acknowledge things like halloween or Santa Claus.  Totally fine with us.  So for halloween they did a falling in love with Jesus party and the kids dressed up like scarecrows.  I tried my hand at make up...pretty good huh?! This is with their friend McConnell

starting Kindergarten

In about April, 2012, we decided that we wanted to do real kindergarten this Fall (as opposed to Spanish Schoolhouse or any other sort of "bridge" year where they would effectively do kindergarten twice).  This was a big decision since everyone seems to be holding their kids back now.  Charis and Price are in fact, almost the youngest in the class.  Along with that decision came the where?  And after a lot of consideration, we decided on Faith Christian School in Grapevine.  There was an application, testing, and interview process which we made it through and were accepted!  Here are a few pics from the first couple days of school in Mrs. Summy's class.

Happy New Year - 2013

March, 2012 - Arboretum
I woke up this morning feeling nostalgic.  I decided I'd start journaling again, maybe update my blog, maybe update some photo albums.  I looked at my blog and realized there were NO posts since April of 2011!! That means I really missed all of 2012.  Realistically, I could not adequately update for a whole year and a half.  So I did a few summary posts for 2012, converted the blog to a book and closed it down.  At the moment I figured I'd quit blogging all together.  But after seeing the book that would be created and all the memories I'd captured through the blog I had a renewed desire to blog away.  I cannot recap 2012 in real detail so I decided I'd start with the beginning of the school year.  Here we go...
